Two Texas officers braved a mass of marauding bees to rescue a disabled man being attacked by the swarm. This absolutely courageous act of self sacrifice played out in Lyford, Texas on July 13th. On that day, the Lyford Chief of Police, Marcos Garcia, would lead from the front with the help of Officer Raymundo Sanchez to go above and beyond for a citizen in peril. The two heroes of the day were responding after receiving a report of an ongoing attack by a swarm of bees. To add to the drama of the day, the citizen under attack suffers from a physical disability that prevented him from executing his own escape. When the two officers arrived, they quickly located the victim lying on the ground while suffering an unrelenting attack by the bees. The victim had draped a towel over his chest in an attempt to mitigate some damage, but it appeared to be doing very little for the unfortunate man. Chief Garcia wasted no time as he leaped from his cruiser and charged head first into the fray....

NFL fans pushing for NBC to replace Carrie Underwood before 2026 season

Carrie Underwood has been the voice of NBC’s Sunday Night Football since 2013, when she replaced Faith Hill with her rendition of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.” As the 2026 season kicks off on September 13 with the Giants facing the Cowboys, Underwood will debut a new version of the anthem.

She described the track as part of her “rock star fever dream,” praising the production team for capturing both the spirit of the song and her love of rock music.

NBC producer Tripp Dixon explained that this year’s opening draws inspiration from Joan Jett’s “I Hate Myself for Loving You,” the original source of the anthem, and blends it with Underwood’s rock influences.

He emphasized that her high‑energy performance sets the stage for the NFL’s biggest teams and players. Despite the creative refresh, some fans have voiced fatigue, arguing that it’s time for a new performer to take over the role.

Critics point to Underwood’s long tenure and her past political performances as reasons for change, while others simply want a fresh voice. Suggestions have ranged from country star Lainey Wilson to a male act that matches the adrenaline of football culture.

Still, NBC appears committed to keeping Underwood in place, ensuring her presence remains a staple of the primetime broadcast even as debate continues among viewers.
