NIGERIAN NAVY EXERCISE LITTORAL FURY ENDS, AFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO MARITIME SECURITY

Any mission-ready force like the Nigerian Navy is built on unwavering discipline, professional excellence and the continuous refinement of its tactical capabilities.

The just-concluded Exercise Littoral Fury at the Eastern Naval Command provided an opportunity for participating gunboats, air assets and operational units to test and evaluate their weapons, strengthen inter-service communication protocols and validate joint littoral manoeuvre doctrines.

According to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, represented by the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, the seamless coordination displayed at Dayspring Island demonstrates the Eastern Naval Command's commitment to maintaining operational superiority against crude oil theft, sea robbery and other forms of maritime criminality across the nation's waters.

Medals and trophies were presented to personnel who distinguished themselves through outstanding performances during the exercise.

Worthy of note is the transformation of the exercise site, which was formerly one of the biggest militant camps along the Calabar Channel.

The narrative has now changed, as the Nigerian Navy occupies the former camp and uses the location as a naval operations site.

The successful conclusion of Exercise Littoral Fury further underscores the Nigerian Navy's commitment to maintaining mission-ready forces and strengthening maritime security across the nation's territorial waters.
