 Atiku pledges scholarship to viral Niger teen miner Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday said his “heart breaks” each time he watches a viral video of a teenage artisanal miner, Yusuf Aliyu, speaking at a mining site in Niger State after the deaths of 37 miners in the state. Atiku, in a statement posted on his X handle, said he was prepared to support the boy’s education, describing him as a child whose intelligence and confidence should be nurtured in a classroom rather than by working at a mining site. “I have watched Yusuf Aliyu’s video repeatedly, and each time, my heart breaks. A child with such intelligence, clarity and confidence should be in a classroom building his future—not struggling for survival in a community surrounded by gold but buried in poverty. “I cannot look at him and see an ‘illegal miner.’ I see a Nigerian child failed by the country that should have protected him. I see brilliance trapped by poverty and enormous promise abandoned by leadership,” ...

 He said no man would marry me - Nigerian woman preparing to remarry shares how her abusive ex-husband married his side chick 7 days after she moved out 


 A Nigerian woman, Faith Onyinyechi, who is preparing to remarry has revealed that her ex-husband married his side chick seven days after she walked away from the toxic marriage, taking their daughter with her. 


Faith, whose traditional wedding will hold on Saturday, August 15, 2026, shared her story in a Facebook post.


According to her, she walked away from her previous marriage because it became so toxic that she feared one of them could get seriously hurt. 


Seven days after after she moved out and returned to her father’s house, her ex-husband married his side chick.


She said it was then that she realized that he had been dating the lady while they were still married. 


He taunted her with photos of his new life, saying that no man would ever marry her. 


Faith recalled how her ex-husband who once claimed he could not live without her or see her sad started sleeping at his side chick’s house and beating her non-stop.


Faith added that she is now in a better place while life became so hard for him and his new wife that they had to move to the village.
