Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. PCN, HAS SEALED 430 MEDICINE OUTLETS ACROSS 10 LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF YOBE STATE . (PHOTO).



The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) has sealed 430 medicine outlets across 10 Local Government Areas in Yobe State folowing a four-day enforcement exercise that uncovered widespread breaches of pharmaceutical regulations . 

The sealed outlets include 300 unregistered or illegal medicine outlets, 20 pharmacies, and 110 patent medicine stores that were shut down for various regulatory breaches , 

The PCN's Head of Department, Enforcement, Suleiman Chiroma, revealed that 50% of the 601 premises inspected were operating illegally, posing a significant public health concern1. The enforcement exercise also exposed a low level of access to formal pharmaceutical services in the state, with only 34 pharmacies found among the 601 premises inspected . 

Some of the violations recorded during the exercise include operation without valid PCN licenses, poor storage conditions, and unauthorized access to controlled medicines 3, The PCN has issued 21 compliance directives to operators found to have breached regulations but whose offenses did not warrant immediate closure.

To ensure compliance, medicine outlet operators are advised to obtain necessary licenses and adhere to regulatory standards
