 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration.   President Trump agrees to pause attacks on Iran subject to 'rapidly' making deal

 

The U.S. has agreed to pause attacks on Iran, President Donald Trump said Saturday, amid what he described as the "perimeters of a deal" being agreed upon, which would include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.


"We have just been asked by Iran, and other Middle Eastern Countries, to hold off any attack in that the perimeters of a deal has been agreed to," Trump said in a post on Truth Social. "This would include the Immediate, Complete, and Total OPENING OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT, and an end to Iran’s nuclear threat."


The president said the U.S. was "locked and loaded and ready to go" against Iran but that he agreed to cancel attacks "subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL." He added that Israel, the U.S. partner in the war with Iran, "joins me in this commitment."


"Get to work, everybody, and get it DONE," Trump wrote regarding a possible new agreement.


The statement came after the State Department on Saturday urged Americans across the Middle East to consider leaving the region or be prepared to depart on short notice, warning of flight disruptions and security risks as the conflict appeared to be escalating.


Trump had earlier threatened Iran with additional attacks, saying Friday that the U.S. will be "hitting them very hard," while Iran vowed to "punish" the U.S. as both nations traded heavy strikes.


"Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise caution and heightened vigilance and should be prepared for flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and potential travel disruptions," the State Department said Saturday.
