 NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE EXTENDS UK PASSPORT INTERVENTION TO OCTOBER 3 The Nigeria Immigration Service has extended its special passport intervention exercise in London and Manchester to October 3, 2026, following a high turnout by applicants. In a statement, the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, indicates that the exercise is progressing smoothly at the two centres despite initial challenges, with 1,477 Nigerians processed and enrolled within the first four days. More than half have already had their passports produced and dispatched. The Service reiterates that passport applications and payments are fully automated and cashless.  It adds, the extension, approved under the directive of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, runs from September 19 to October 3 and is intended to accommodate the increasing demand.

  Two men shot inside car in Lulekani


Two men have reportedly been shot inside a vehicle at Kurhula Village in Lulekani, Phalaborwa, this evening.


Police have arrived at the scene and are reportedly awaiting the arrival of emergency medical services.


The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known.
