  Cops crash massive LA street takeover, towing 100 cars and detaining hundreds Cops sprung a massive sting on alleged street-racing hooligans in South Los Angeles early Saturday — reportedly detaining hundreds and preparing to haul away scores of vehicles. The Los Angeles Police Department told The California Post that officers issued a tactical alert at 3:21 a.m. and were still working the scene hours later, as of 9 a.m. No details were immediately available on arrests or citations from the LAPD. Video from the scene showed dozens of officers surrounding a massive crowd as people wandered between cars trapped at the intersection of South Figueroa Street and West Alondra Boulevard. Tow trucks stood by, ready to pounce.  Sudan army chief declares Khartoum safe, says armed forces belong to all Sudanese


Sudan’s army chief and Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan said on Saturday that the armed forces are a national institution representing all Sudanese and do not belong to any tribe or particular group, while declaring Khartoum safe and stable, Anadolu Agency reported.


Of Sudan’s 18 states, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) control the five states of Darfur in western Sudan, except for parts of North Darfur that remain under army control, according to the latest territorial picture. The army controls most of the remaining 13 states, including the capital, Khartoum.


Sudan has been engulfed in conflict between the army and the RSF since April 2023, a war that has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced nearly 13 million others, according to UN and international estimates.
