Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing. Two Senior NOCMA Officials Arrested in Malawi Over $403,605 Fuel Payment Scandal


Police in Malawi have arrested two senior officials at the state-owned National Oil Company of Malawi, NOCMA, over an alleged fraudulent transfer of $403,605 linked to fuel-related payments.


According to police and local media, the officials could face charges including negligence in safeguarding public funds and misuse of public office.


Police say the money was transferred to an account in Mozambique for fuel loading and clearing fees. NOCMA had earlier described the case as suspected cyberfraud involving altered banking details.


Local media later reported that NOCMA claimed no money was lost and that the funds had reached the intended recipient.


The conflicting accounts have raised questions about how the payment was approved and what actually happened to the money. Investigations are still ongoing
