 Israel DMW Reacts to Alleged Edo State Ban on Davido: 'No One Can Ban Him From His Maternal Home' Israel DMW, the outspoken logistics manager for Afrobeats superstar Davido, has vehemently rejected reports suggesting that the singer has been banned from performing in Edo State. Taking to social media, Israel, an Edo State indigene himself, insisted that no individual has the authority to prevent the music icon from entering or performing in the state. The Alleged Ban and Its Origins The controversy erupted following statements reportedly made by Apostle Kassy Chukwu, the Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media to the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo. In a widely circulated video, Chukwu allegedly claimed that Davido had been barred from the state due to derogatory remarks the singer made against Governor Okpebholo during the Osun State governorship election cycle. Veteran Journalist/ Former WNTV Staff, Lekan Alabi Dies at 76


A veteran journalist, former staff of the Western Nigeria Television (WNTV), and former Press Secretary to successive Oyo State Governors, Oloye Lekan Alabi, has died at the age of 76.


Oloye Lekan Alabi died on Saturday morning in Lagos after a distinguished career spanning journalism, public communication and public service. 


His death was announced in a statement by the Media Aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Adeola Oloko.


A respected broadcaster and public relations practitioner, Alabi was among the pioneering professionals who served at the former Western Nigeria Television (WNTV), where he made significant contributions to broadcast journalism before serving as Press Secretary to successive governors of Oyo State.


The late Alabi also held the traditional title of Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, playing a prominent role in promoting the cultural heritage, history and traditions of Ibadanland, as well as contributing to community development.


According to family sources, he will be buried in accordance with Islamic rites, while further details of the funeral arrangements will be announced by the family.


Oloye Lekan Alabi is remembered for his remarkable contributions to journalism, public service and the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Ibadanland.
