Okin Biscuits resumes production after 17 years The once-popular Okin Biscuits has resumed production for the first time in 17 years, after rehabilitating one of its production lines that had been shut down when vandals stole its cables, frequency drives, contactors, motors, and other electronic components.   Viola Davis Rejects Target’s Apology Over “Blackface” Halloween Costume

Viola Davis has rejected Target’s apology after the retailer pulled a controversial kids’ Halloween costume that critics said evoked racist minstrel and blackface imagery.

Target removed the $25 "Kids' Glows Under Blacklight Circus Clown" costume from its Hyde and EEK! Boutique line after backlash over the design’s exaggerated features, which many linked to Jim Crow-era minstrel and blackface tropes.

The retailer took down the item and issued an apology, saying they “got this wrong” and acknowledging the deep hurt caused to Black customers and employees.

Davis, however, turned down the apology. She argued that Target failed to grasp the historical weight and dehumanizing impact of the imagery.

“...I do not believe that you understand the impact... the pain... the dehumanization of the above,” Davis said, adding that the incident showed the company was “not on her side” and that such imagery contributes to systemic harm.
