Thirty indigent indigenes of Zaria Local Government Area have received letters of permanent and pensionable appointment after securing employment with the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria.
The appointment letters were formally presented to the beneficiaries by the Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, popularly known as Jaga, at the Zaria Local Government Council Chamber.
According to a statement issued by the Chairman's Special Assistant on New Media, Abdullahi Abubakar Lawal, the employment opportunities were facilitated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON, as part of efforts to create employment opportunities for constituents in Zaria.
Speaking during the presentation, Engr. Jaga expressed appreciation to the Speaker for the intervention and his continued support for the welfare and development of the people of Zaria.
The council chairman also highlighted the growing collaboration between the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Zaria Local Government Council, saying the partnership had resulted in tangible opportunities for constituents.
He congratulated the 30 beneficiaries and urged them to justify the confidence placed in them by carrying out their responsibilities with dedication, integrity and professionalism.
The beneficiaries are expected to take up their appointments with the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria.
The development comes as part of ongoing efforts highlighted by the local government leadership to provide employment opportunities and improve the welfare of residents.
