 NAF COMPLETES LOCAL REASSEMBLY OF FIRST TWO H125 HELICOPTERS IN LAGOS The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully completed the local reassembly of its first two H125 helicopters at NAF Base Ikeja, Lagos, following their delivery by Airbus. Conducted with the support of Airbus technical personnel, the exercise marks an important milestone in strengthening technical collaboration, facilitating knowledge transfer and enhancing NAF personnel’s practical exposure to the support and maintenance of modern rotary-wing platforms. The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, described the development as a positive step towards strengthening the NAF’s technical and operational capacity. A 31-YEAR-OLD SERVING NYSC MEMBER, ARSENAL FAN AND TEACHER AT A PRIVATE SCHOOL OFF JAKPA ROAD IN UVWIE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF DELTA STATE HAS BEEN ARRESTED AND CHARGED TO COURT OVER THE ALLEGED DEFILEMENT OF A 6-YEAR-OLD GIRL.(PHOTO).

  A 31-year-old serving NYSC member, Arsenal fan and teacher at a private school off Jakpa Road in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has been arrested and charged to court over the alleged defilement of a 6-year-old girl.


According to the child, the NYSC member took her to his apartment within the school premises on three occasions when her mother arrived late to pick her up from school and sexually abused her.


She also said he threatened to kill her if she told her mother. According to her, he used a white handkerchief with which he allegedly cleaned her blood to frighten her into keeping silent.


A medical examination reportedly confirmed that the child's hymen was broken and her vulva was ruptured.


A Delta-based activist who took up the case said the suspect was earlier today arraigned before High Court 1, Effurun, and remanded at the Warri Prison, Okere.


The case was adjourned until September 18, 2026, pending the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) advice.
