 Bayelsa man marries Ijaw deity in traditional ceremony


A Bayelsa man, Oruebi Raymond Oyinmiebi, has performed a traditional ceremony to marry Bini-Ebi, a revered Ijaw spiritual deity known as the Queen of Wealth and Mother of Love.


Oyinmiebi carried out the traditional ceremony at a river on Thursday, September 17, 2026.


Taking to Facebook, he shared photos from the ceremony, saying his forefathers and generations drank from the same river. 


According to Oyinmiebi, he presented traditional offerings and prayed for blessings, protection, good health, long life, prosperity and peace in his home.


Meanwhile, friends and well-wishers are posting congratulatory messages for him and his ‘wife’.
