College janitor arrested after allegedly hiding in locker room ceiling to photograph women’s soccer team

A janitor at Wilmington College in Ohio was arrested Tuesday after allegedly hiding in the ceiling above a women’s soccer locker room and photographing players as they changed.

Jayson Barker faces 11 counts of voyeurism after a member of the soccer team reportedly noticed him taking photographs from above inside the locker room at the Scheve Athletic Center.

Campus security detained Barker until police arrived. He was initially held on $22,000 bail and has since been released after posting it.

Wilmington College said Barker was employed by a custodial services vendor and that the school has terminated its relationship with the contractor.

The college said its primary concern is the safety and well-being of its students and that counseling and other support services have been provided to students affected by the incident.

Investigators are examining whether Barker may have engaged in similar conduct in the past and said additional charges could be filed.

Barker is scheduled to return to court Oct. 5.
