 PRESS BRIEFING BY THE POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER, ON BEHALF OF THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE EDO STATE COMMAND Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press.  It is with great pleasure that the Command wishes to inform the general public of its latest achievement over the immediate past week arising from ongoing intelligence- led operations: Within the past week, the command have arrested a total of 10 suspects for violent crimes, neutralized 1 suspected kidnapper, recovered 1 AK 47 Rifle, 10 7.62 mm live ammunitions, 1 barrette pistol with 14 live ammunition. 1. ARREST OF SUSPECT IN ABDUCTION AND SEXUAL ABUSE OF FIVE FEMALE CHILDREN. On 12th September 2026, the Command received information on the alleged abduction of five female children from the ibillo/ Imoga axis of Akoko - Edo LGA. COURT FIXES OCTOBER 26 TO RULE ON EL-RUFAI'S NO-CASE SUBMISSION


The Federal High Court, Abuja Division, has reserved ruling on the no-case submission filed by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in his ongoing trial over alleged unlawful wire tapping.


El-Rufai, as the defendant in the matter, is being tried for wire tapping thetelephone conversations of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.


At the resumed hearing, the prosecution and defence counsels  adopted their written addresses on El-Rufai's no-case submission.


the prosecution counsel prayed the court to overrule the no-case submission and order the defendant to enter his defence.


Justice Abdulmalik subsequently adjourned the matter until October 26, 2026, for ruling.
