 BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE SWIFT RESPONSE: POLICE/COMMUNITY ARREST TWO ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS, RECOVER STOLEN VALUABLES IN BIRSHI GANDU In its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, the Bauchi State Police Command,  has recorded yet another commendable breakthrough following prompt response to a distress report. On 17th October, 2026 at about 1015hrs, four complainants (two males and two females), all of Birshi Gandu, reported at 'E' Division that on the same day, while they were asleep in their compound housing Cozy Resort Hotel, three hoodlums armed with knives and machetes forcefully broke in and dispossessed them of their personal belongings including Samsung Galaxy S22 and S23, Redmi Note 14, iPhones, iPads, a Lenovo laptop, a Samsung tablet, power banks, earpods and other valuables running into millions of Naira, including office ID cards and driver's license. EFCC ARRAIGNS ONE FOR ALLEGED N600,000 FRAUD IN MAIDUGURI. (PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE

 EFCC Arraigns One for Alleged  N600,000 Fraud in Maiduguri


 


The Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, September 7, 2026, arraigned one Bilal Muhammad before Justice B.T Zanna of the Borno State High Court sitting in Maiduguri.


The defendant was arraigned on a two -count charge bordering on  criminal misappropriation and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N600,000.00 (Six Hundred Thousand Naira).


 


Count one of the charge reads: "That you, Bilal Muhammad CEO of GDF Homes Sale Enterprises Limited, sometimes in 2025 at Maiduguri, Borno State within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did obtain the sum of N600,000.00 (Six Hundred Thousand Naira) under the guise of selling Keke Napep and thereby committed an offence contrary to 1 (1)(a) & (b) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under 1 (3) of the same Act."


The defendant pleaded "not guilty" to the charge when they were read to him, while prosecution counsel A.D Abdulmalik prayed for a trial date and urged the court to remand the defendant in EFCC facility


 


Justice Zanna thereafter adjourned the matter till September 22, 2026 for commencement of hearing and remand the defendant in the EFCC facility.


 


The defendant was arrested  when he allegedly  obtained the aggregate sum of N600,000.00 from a petitioner  purportedly meant for the purchase of a Tricycle (aka Keke Napep) and failed to deliver neither the Tricycle nor the money to the petitioner.
