Some political associates and former loyalists of immediate past Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai, have rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared their support for the incumbent governor, Senator Uba Sani, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to Vanguard, those said to be joining the political camp led by Governor Uba Sani include Bashir Saidu, a former Chief of Staff to El-Rufai, and Abdu Kwari, a former commissioner in the state and former senator.
Others are Nasir Abdullahi Maikano, a former Kaduna State chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and three-term member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, who represented Ungwan Sanusi Constituency.
Also mentioned is Moukhtar Isa Hazo, a former Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, as well as other grassroots politicians across the state.
The development comes amid fresh political realignments in Kaduna ahead of the 2027 elections and could further consolidate Governor Uba Sani’s influence within the APC.
The politicians had, at different times, been identified with El-Rufai’s political camp, making their reported decision to support the incumbent governor significant as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of 2027.
A former Kaduna State commissioner, Jafaru Ibrahim Sani, who confirmed the development to our correspondent, said the politicians had agreed to move together.
“It’s true, we are going together with them,” he said.
