 TWO DAYS BLACKOUT: ABAGANA RESIDENTS LAMENT POWER OUTAGE *By Emezina Patricia* Residents of some parts of Abagana town in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State have called on the power distribution company to come to their aid in restoring electricity supply. The residents complained that for the past two days, there has been no power supply in Abagana, particularly around Oye Agu Market to Girls' College Road axis. They appealed for urgent intervention to rescue them from the prolonged power outage. Mr. Ifeanyi Okeke, whose shop is located around Oye Agu Market, said he sells cold drinks and has been unable to make sales due to the lack of electricity to chill his drinks, as customers demand cold beverages. He pleaded with the power authority to come to their rescue by restoring electricity supply to the area. Mrs. Mercy Elem, who lives near Girls' College, Abagana, said she is a civil servant and has been unable to iron her clothes since the outage began. She prayed...

FCT POLICE ARREST SUSPECT FOR ATTEMPTED CAR THEFT, RECOVER VEHICLE.


On the 15th of September, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the FCT Police Command received a distress call reporting an attempted car theft along Tigris Crescent, Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja.


Responding to the distress call, a patrol team from Maitama Police Division was promptly dispatched to the scene, where one Mohammed Aliyu was arrested inside a vehicle while attempting to start and drive it away.


Preliminary investigations revealed that one Mr. Ikechukwu had parked his black Hyundai Santa vehicle while attending an appointment at a nearby office. Upon returning, he observed an unfamiliar individual inside the vehicle and raised an alarm, which attracted the attention of other persons in the vicinity.


Further investigations revealed that the suspect has previous records of arrest in two separate car theft incidents by Garki and Zuba Divisions. He had also served time and was recently released from Keffi Prison in April 2026. He remains in custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
