AAC SEEK FURTHER INVESTIGATION INTO ON SOWORE IN EKITI The African Action Congress, AAC, has called for further investigation into the reported attack on Omoyele Sowore and other party members in Ekiti State, despite the arrest of eleven suspects. In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Rex Elanu, the AAC says new video footage has emerged which it believes could help identify more persons involved in the incident. The party has expressed concern over the handling of CCTV recordings from the restaurant where the incident occurred, and alleges that some stolen phones were traced to the governor's lodge in Ekiti State. It is seeking an independent investigation into these claims, the handling of recovered items and the circumstances surrounding the incident. The AAC has also called for the arrest and prosecution of any other persons found to have been involved, and demanded an investigation into the conduct of any security officers who may have acted unprofessionally.

Funke Akindele Sparks Intense Debate After Missing Kamo State Movie Premiere

Nollywood superstar Funke Akindele has sparked an intense online debate following her absence from the grand premiere of 'Star Lomo,' the debut cinema film by her popular protégé, Akinyoola Ayoola, widely known as Kamo State.

The Cause of the Social Media Stir

The star-studded Lagos premiere took place over the weekend, but Akindele's empty seat raised eyebrows among fans and critics alike. The actress and the skit maker have shared a highly visible professional relationship in recent years, making her absence a focal point for speculation on social media platforms.

Kamo and Akindele first became closely associated during the production of 'Everybody Loves Jenifa' in 2024. Kamo played a major role in the promotional campaign for the project and subsequently became a frequent fixture in Akindele's social media content, particularly on Snapchat. However, observers noticed that their public interactions had scaled down earlier this year, fueling rumors of a possible disagreement.

Where Was Funke Akindele?

As the premiere of 'Star Lomo' took place in Lagos, Akindele was on a staycation in Ghana. She was spotted enjoying her time with singer Waje, who is set to star in her upcoming film project, 'The Four.' This timing led some social media users to quickly draw parallels to Akindele's past working relationships with former protégés, such as Juliana Oloyede, known as Toyo Baby, and Tobi Makinde.

Fans and Critics Clash Online

The situation has divided netizens into opposing camps. On one side, critics argue that Kamo offered unwavering support during Akindele's previous cinematic rollouts and deserved her physical presence to boost his own milestone. Some went as far as claiming the relationship seemed one-sided.

Conversely, a vast wave of supporters stepped forward to defend the box office queen, highlighting the extensive assistance she has given Kamo throughout his career. Defenders listed several major gestures of goodwill from Akindele, including:

• Featuring Kamo in major projects like 'Aiyetoro Town Season 2,' 'Behind The Scenes,' and 'Everybody Loves Jenifa.'

• Attending his wedding in Ibadan and sponsoring his child's naming ceremony.

• Providing extensive public relations support for his online content, including his YouTube project 'Ilu Le.'

• Regularly hosting Kamo and his wife in her home.

Many argued that her absence from a single event should not overshadow years of mentorship, financial support, and career elevation. Observers also pointed out that Akindele could have easily offered behind-the-scenes financial or logistical support for the premiere without being physically present.

No Confirmed Rift

While the internet remains divided over the situation, neither Funke Akindele nor Kamo State has issued any official statement regarding a fallout. Mentorship relationships in the entertainment industry often go through quiet phases, and experts warn that social media speculation does not always reflect the true nature of private professional bonds.
