KADGIS Resolves Cemetery Dispute In Danhonu 2, Millennium City

The Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) has resolved concerns surrounding a cemetery in Danhonu 2, Millennium City, following a stakeholders’ meeting convened to address the disputed allocation of plots in the area.

The meeting followed a public notice issued on Friday, September 4, 2026, regarding some plots within the Danhonu 2 area, where the cemetery had previously been allocated as plots with titles.

At the stakeholders’ meeting, it was resolved that the cemetery should be properly beaconed and designated as a G-item, ensuring that the land is preserved for its intended public purpose and protected against further encroachment.

The stakeholders also resolved that the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) should be formally notified to halt the issuance of building permits within the affected area.

In addition, members of the community were advised to fence the cemetery to further protect it from possible encroachment in the future.

Speaking at the meeting, community elders expressed appreciation to the Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Senator Uba Sani, for directing the reinstatement and preservation of the cemetery.

The elders also commended KADGIS for what they described as a swift response to the concerns raised by residents, saying the intervention demonstrated the government’s commitment to addressing issues affecting citizens.

They further prayed for continued divine guidance for the KADGIS management as it carries out its responsibilities of ensuring effective land administration and protecting public land across Kaduna State.

The resolution is expected to safeguard the cemetery and prevent future disputes over its use and ownership.
