 U.S commends NDLEA over busts of Mexican meth labs as Marwa seeks continued support.   The United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) for Africa and the Middle East, Michael Gonzales has commended the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for its operational successes, describing Nigeria as the clear answer for the first country to visit after his appointment. Gonzales made the remark on Tuesday, 20th October 2026, during a visit to the NDLEA national headquarters in Abuja, where he was received by the Chairman/CEO, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), and members of the agency's management team.  LAWMA DISLODGES ILLEGAL STREET TRADERS AT TBS, COSTAIN/NATIONAL THEATRE AXIS

…intensifies enforcement to protect public spaces, ease movement


The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has dislodged street traders occupying road corridors and other unauthorised locations at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) and the Costain Under Bridge/National Theatre axis.


The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said on Tuesday that the enforcement operation,  was part of the Authority’s sustained efforts to promote environmental cleanliness, protect public spaces and ensure that roads, walkways and other public areas were used for their intended purposes.


He explained that the operation, carried out in collaboration with the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), targeted street trading activities obstructing pedestrian and vehicular movement and contributing to environmental nuisance along the affected corridors.


He warned traders to desist from occupying road corridors, walkways and other unauthorised locations, urging them to operate only from designated and approved trading areas.


Noting that maintaining orderly public spaces required sustained compliance, Gbadegesin averred that LAWMA would continue to work with relevant government agencies to address activities that undermine environmental standards and public order.


The LAWMA boss urged residents and other stakeholders to support enforcement efforts by complying with established regulations and avoiding activities that obstruct public spaces or contribute to environmental degradation.


He said that LAWMA would sustain monitoring of the affected areas to prevent the return of illegal trading activities and ensure continued compliance.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
