"My Husband Is a Secure Man": Mo Bimpe Shuts Down Criticisms Over Viral Video With Jide Awobona

Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has officially responded to the online buzz and criticism surrounding a viral video from a recent Lagos movie premiere. The actress addressed concerns raised by fans regarding her interaction with colleague Jide Awobona, emphasizing the strength and security of her marriage to fellow actor Lateef Adedimeji.

The Premiere Video That Sparked Debate

The controversy began following the star-studded premiere of A Mama Deola Wedding Story in Lagos on September 2, 2026. In a brief video clip circulating online, Mo Bimpe dressed in an elegant white bridal-inspired outfit was seen with her arm resting on Jide Awobona's shoulder as they chatted and scrolled through a phone together.

Seated right next to the duo was Mo Bimpe’s husband, Lateef Adedimeji. Some social media users were quick to analyze the footage, claiming that Lateef appeared visibly uncomfortable with the proximity between his wife and Awobona, sparking an online debate about boundaries in marriage.

Mo Bimpe Breaks Her Silence

Refusing to let the narrative spin out of control, Mo Bimpe took to her Instagram Stories on September 6, 2026, to address the public scrutiny directly. She dismissed the negative interpretations, making it clear that her husband is highly secure and that the internet's assumptions do not align with their reality.

According to the actress, the viral moment was nothing more than a casual, friendly exchange between long-time colleagues. She urged fans to refrain from projecting unnecessary drama onto her peaceful household.

A Marriage Built on Solid Friendship

Context is key to understanding the relationship dynamics. Mo Bimpe and Lateef Adedimeji tied the knot in December 2021 after years of cultivating a deep friendship. Their bond has only grown stronger over the years, culminating in the joyful arrival of their triplets earlier in 2026.

Furthermore, Jide Awobona is far from a stranger to the family. He has maintained a close relationship with both Mo Bimpe and Lateef for years, frequently attending family milestones and celebrating with them. For the couple, the interaction at the premiere was entirely normal behavior among close friends.
