 Abia Demolishes Structures Along Railways Quarters for New Road Project The Abia State Government has demolished shops and shanties on the right flank of the Nigerian Railways Quarters in Umuahia to clear the way for an ongoing road construction project. The Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA) defended the action, stating that the occupants were given sufficient notice before the bulldozers moved in. According to the design plan and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Abia State Government and the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), the new road will run from the First Bank junction on Market Road through the Railways Quarters and terminate at Akanu Ibiam Road in the state capital. The government said the project is intended to ease traffic congestion in Umuahia and restore the aesthetic appeal of the capital city.  PRESIDENT TINUBU LAUDS KWARA APC CHIEFTAIN, FEMI SANNI ON BIRTHDAY


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm wishes to an All Progressives Congress leader in Kwara State,  Femi Sanni, for his steadfastness and commitment to the unity of the party, as he marks his birthday. 


A statement by the Special Adviser to the President, Information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga indicates that Sanni sought the APC governorship ticket in Kwara State during the last party primaries. Though he did not clinch the ticket, he has remained one of the committed party leaders who have stayed true to the progressive ideals


It notes that the celebrant is an accomplished engineer, entrepreneur, community leader, and committed progressive whose journey has been marked by a devoted commitment to developing his people.


President Tinubu commended the Kwara APC chieftain for his contributions to engineering, private-sector development, and the party's growth, where he has been one of its leading lights.


The President describes him as an outstanding party man and a professional of good breeding who continues to contribute to the development of our country and Kwara State.


The President wishes him good health and more impactful years of service to humanity.
