Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) is seeking justice following the death of 37 miners in NSCDC custody in Minna, Niger State.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary Muhammed Ishaq, the party demands the Federal Government to expedite action for the establishment of an Independent Commission of Inquiry and prosecution of any officer found culpable.
PRP also expresses concern over the continued captivity of hostages kidnapped since August in Dekara community, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The party says the incidents underscore the need for stronger protection of lives and property, warning that rising banditry and kidnapping in the North Central and North West could escalate into a major national security threat.
It therefore urges the federal government to hold the security officers accountable and intensify efforts in ensuring peace and security across the nation.
