At least five people have been killed and five others injured after an Amazon cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport in Florida, United States.
The Boeing 767-300, operated by 21 Air on behalf of Amazon, was carrying out a flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it crashed while landing at the airport on Sunday.
The crash triggered a major fire and sent thick smoke into the air as emergency crews rushed to the scene. Several vehicles were also struck during the incident.
Five people were confirmed dead, while five others were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. Three of the injured were reportedly in critical condition.
The aircraft’s two pilots were initially trapped inside the plane before emergency responders worked to rescue them.
The crash caused major disruption at Miami International Airport, with operations temporarily affected and a number of flights delayed or cancelled.

Federal investigators have begun examining why an Amazon cargo jet ran off the runway at Miami International Airport, killing five people and injuring five others, including three who remain in critical condition.
The National Transportation Safety Board has deployed investigators to determine what went wrong during the landing of Amazon Prime Air Flight 7598, a Boeing 767-300 freighter operated by 21 Air.
Investigators are expected to focus closely on whether the aircraft touched down too late on the runway and failed to stop within the available distance.
Preliminary analysis of video footage suggests the aircraft may have remained airborne beyond the normal touchdown zone before landing, raising questions about the circumstances of the approach.
Weather conditions are also being examined. Strong winds and thunderstorms were reported in the area around the time of the crash, although investigators have not identified weather as the cause.
The aircraft, which was travelling at about 112 knots when it left the runway, crossed a nearby road and struck several vehicles before bursting into flames.
More than 60 emergency units and about 200 personnel responded to the crash, with rescuers working to free people trapped inside the aircraft and vehicles.
