APC CAMPAIGN COUNCIL PRESS STATEMENT PARIS ICC ARBITRATION COURT RULING: ATIKU ABUBAKAR UNFIT FOR NIGERIA'S PRESIDENCY  Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress candidate, is unfit to be President of Nigeria because he has once again proven he will compromise Nigeria’s best interests for personal, fiduciary gain. Abubakar’s legendary corruption reverberated in Paris at the International Arbitration Tribunal under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Hearings in the arbitration filed by Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Ltd (Sunrise) and Leno Adesanya over the stalled 3960mw Mambila Hydroelectric Power Project in Taraba State revealed that Abubakar and former power minister Olu Agunloye worked in cahoots to sign an illegal power contract with Sunrise.  TROOPS OF 18 BRIGADE RESCUE 22 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN RAFI LGA OF NIGER STATE

In continuation of intensified offensive operations to deny terrorists freedom of action within its Area of Responsibility (AOR), troops of 18 Brigade (Bde), Nigerian Army, have rescued 22 kidnapped victims in Muchiya village, Rafi Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.

The rescue was recorded on 15 September 2026 when troops of 18 Bde Garrison (Gar) in conjunction with troops of 45 Battalion, acting on credible intelligence on the convergence of terrorists, launched a fighting patrol to the general area. On sighting the advancing troops, the terrorists fled in disarray into the surrounding forest in a bid to evade contact.

The determined troops sustained the pursuit on the terrorists along their escaped routes. Consequently, troops rescued 22 kidnapped victims and recovered 3 motorcycles and other sundry items abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.

All rescued victims have been handed over to the leadership of the Muchiya community and have since been reunited with their families. One of the victims, Alhaji Hassan, who sustained injury while in captivity, was promptly evacuated to a clinic and is currently responding to treatment.

The Commander 18 Brigade lauded the troops for their resilience, gallantry, and doggedness. He charged them to maintain the momentum and ensure continuous domination of the AOR. He further reassured law-abiding citizens of Muchiya and adjoining communities of the Bde's unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, while urging them to continue to provide timely and credible information on the activities of criminal elements.
