TROOPS OF OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA ARREST TERRORIST KINGPIN, INTERCEPT AMMUNITION COURIER, OTHERS IN KADUNA STATE
Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY) arrested a suspected terrorists, intercepted ammunition courier and apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in separate operations in Kaduna State.
In the early hours of 9 September 2026, troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known hideout of terrorists in Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State. During the operation, troops arrested the terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate at their hideout. The arrested suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation.
Similarly, on the same day, troops of Sector 1, acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of terrorist ammunition, arrested a 50-year-old female ammunition courier in possession of 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag in Igabi Local Government Area.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State. The suspect and recovered items are in military custody for further investigation.
Later that day, troops of Sector 1, in collaboration with a community vigilante group, apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
During interrogation and a search of the suspect, troops recovered four communication devices suspected to be used by terrorists. The suspect and recovered items are in military custody for further investigation.
The series of successes recorded is a testimony to the unwavering commitment of troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist networks, deny criminal elements freedom of action, and prevent the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across the Joint Operations Area.
The Joint Task Force appreciates members of the public for their continued support and urges them to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
