 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU DEPARTS JEDDAH FOR ABUJA AFTER SUCCESSFUL UMRAH IN MAKKAH President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday departed King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for Abuja after successfully completing his Umrah (Lesser Hajj) in the holy city of Makkah. President Tinubu's plane took off at the Royal Terminal of the King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, at exactly 5:13.pm Saudi time. The Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin MISHAAL bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Nigerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Yakubu Gambo, and the Hon. Consul-General, Ambassador Muazam Ibrahim Nayaya, accompanied the President to the airport. Before departure, President Tinubu had a brief meeting with the Deputy Governor of Makkah at the Royal Guest Palace in the airport.  TROOPS OF OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA RESCUE THREE KIDNAPPED VICTIMS IN KATSINA STATE


Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY), rescued three kidnapped victims following a distress call from local residents on terrorist activities along the Dandume-Sheme Road in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State on the 3 September 2026.


Acting on the distress call, troops in collaboration with the personnel of the Nigeria Police swiftly mobilized to the scene and made contact with the terrorists, overwhelming them with superior firepower. The terrorists fled in disarray into the surrounding bush abandoning their victims.


Exploitation of the general area led to the rescue of three kidnapped victims along with two vehicles used by the terrorists. The rescued victims and recovered vehicles were subsequently handed over to the Divisional Police Officer, Dandume, while troops continue to dominate the general area with aggressive patrols to deny the terrorists freedom of action.


The successful rescue operation demonstrates the resolve of troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to safeguard the lives and property of law-abiding citizens across the Joint Operations Area. Operation FANSAN YAMMA appreciates the general public for its continuous support and urges them to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities within their localities to the nearest security outpost for prompt action.
