 White House video pool resumes operations after Trump media access ban ruling

   The White House network video pool resumed operations Friday for the first time since President Donald Trump barred three news outlets from the White House in a high-profile dispute over media access.

The pool, made up of five major U.S. television networks that rotate coverage and share video, had been inactive after the White House excluded CNN and two other outlets from its grounds. The remaining four members refused to participate in a show of solidarity with the banned organizations.

A federal judge temporarily blocked the White House ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico on Thursday, allowing reporters from all three outlets to return to the White House. However, the ruling did not specifically address the video pool, and the participating networks continued to withhold their coverage.

The pool's live video feed was circulating Friday again as Trump prepared to take Chinese President Xi Jinping to the National Archives.

CNN had been assigned to cover the event, and the White House had approved the network's credentials. The network was preparing to participate in the pool alongside CBS, which was also listed on the day's press schedule.

The return of the shared video feed marked a resumption of the pool's operations following the dispute over media access.
