GEHGEH CHALLENGES VERYDARKMAN: ACCUSES ACTIVIST OF TARGETING DAVIDO OVER BURNA BOY FRIENDSHIP AND POLITICAL STANCE. (PHOTO).
Tyler Ulrich was a sophomore at Southern Nazerene University in Oklahoma. He is from Azle, Texas originally, where he played high school football.
Tyler loved the game.
Tyler was playing for the school's football team, the Crimson Storm, in an away game against Quachita Baptist on Saturday, October 11th.
As the two teams battled it out, Tyler made a tackle. The tackle has been described as a routine football play.
However, it has also been described as one of the most horrifying and heartbreaking scenes ever witnessed around the game.
After executing the tackle, Tyler did not get back up. However, it wasn't until Tyler's teammates began jumping and waving urgently for medical crews to come help Tyler before anyone realized something terrible had happened.
Even the long time announcer/broadcaster stated he didn't know anything was wrong and he didn't see any "hard hits" in real-time. When he realized something happened, he was heartbroken.
Medical crews from BOTH teams ran to Tyler's aid and administered medical care. The tragic incident as well as the following chaotic and heartbreaking aftermath took nearly an hour.
Tyler was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. He was suffering from serious head injuries.
The young man fought for his life until today, Thursday, October 15th, when he succumbed to his injuries.
Our thoughts are the family and friends of Tyler Ulrich and the entire student body.
