A MAN BROKE INTO AN OREGON APARTMENT AND ATTACKED TWO YOUNG SISTERS, ULTIMATELY KIDNAPPING THE 10-YEAR-OLD SISTER.(PHOTO).

A man broke into an Oregon apartment and attacked two young sisters, ultimately kidnapping the 10-year-old sister.

Thankfully, local authorities had honed in on a suspect and were relentless in his capture.

The series of events almost seem too dramatic to be real life. Sadly, they were very much the lives of two young girls on Wednesday, October 28th.

The full details of the specifics (where were parents, why were they targeted) have not been made public yet.

The initial call came through at approximately 1:47 a.m. The caller reported a kidnapping and assault that involved two young girls.

The information received was enough for officers with Canby, Oregon PD, to respond double time to Orchard Apartments.

Once on scene, they realized the full gravity of the situation. This was not kids screwing around. This was a very real and very violent home invasion and kidnapping.

Police learned that a man had entered the apartment at 1:39 a.m. When he gained entry, the assailant immediately went on the offensive. He sought out the 12-year-old sister and struck her in the head with a hammer.

The suspect quickly grabbed and restrained the 10-year-old girl before rushing to a white van. He loaded the young girl and was gone with the entire ordeal, taking only minutes.

Police are staying tight-lipped on how they singled out their suspect. It appears like a lot of good old-fashioned police work was at play. Investigators spent most of Wednesday interviewing family, friends, and neighbors. They also canvassed the neighborhood for any security cameras that might have caught something important.

Whatever they did worked and 13 hours after she was abducted, the 10-year-old girl was recovered. She was found tied up and in a closet in Oregon City.

Vince Edgar Chavez was taken into custody during the police action inside of the home. According to reports, he was caught attempting to flee out the back door.

But thanks to good police work... she was alive.

As stated before police are not releasing details concerning the motive or if Chavez has any connection to the girls or their family.

The 10-year-old was taken to the hospital. There are no updates on her condition.

Both of those young girls experienced a lifetime of trauma in one day. I hope they are receiving the support they need.

Police have confirmed that the girl's parents cooperated 100% throughout the entirety of the ordeal. There is no information regarding their whereabouts when the home invasion occurred.

Our thoughts are with these two girls and the community that spent today on an emotional roller-coaster.
