SWIFT RESPONSE: POLICE/COMMUNITY ARREST TWO ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS, RECOVER STOLEN VALUABLES IN BIRSHI GANDU. (PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE.
82-year-old Glenda Giersten began experiencing some concerning medical symptoms on September 20th. Glenda lost the ability to speak in a meaningful manner and also experienced difficulty moving one side of her body. These are the tell tale signs that a person may have had a stroke.
From that day forward, Glenda's body would begin to, sadly, move toward her passing.
At this stage, most people are given the opportunity to move forward with dignity and under medical care. Sadly, this was not an option afforded to Glenda.
Her son, the person who should've made sure she received proper medical care, is 53-year-old Michael Hanson. He loaded up his mother like a piece of furniture and drove her to a storage unit. He then placed his mother's recliner inside of the unit, placed his mother in the recliner... and left.
Glenda must've been so confused and absolutely terrified.
This is where Glenda remained for THREE DAYS, until September 23rd. She was left in a diaper, physically unable to move from her seat and suffering from pressure sores inside of a dark rented storage unit.
On September 23rd, Michael Hanson finally took his mother to the hospital.
Unfortunately, the damage was already done, and Glenda Giersten passed away soon after her arrival.
Hospital staff notified law enforcement after they had treated Glenda. Law enforcement launched an investigation into the circumstances of her passing.
During questioning, Michael acknowledged that he had placed his mother in a storage unit. He also stated that he was aware that his mother could not have left the storage unit without assistance.
The investigation has led to the arrest of Michael Hanson on charges of first-degree involuntary manslaughter. He had his bond set at $75,000.
