Afolabi, who addressed the command's management team and Area Commanders during a strategic meeting, also warned that extorting the public in the course of an officer's duties would not be tolerated.

He stated that the strategic meeting was organised to strengthen supervision, discipline, professionalism and accountability across the command.

Afolabi announced that the X squad of the Abia State police command would be out to monitor and ensure professionalism among officers.

He mandated that all Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, ensure that crime maps are provided at their respective formations, as well as to all Area Intelligence Officers, AIOs, and Divisional Intelligence Officers, DIOs.

The Abia police boss directed that updated maps be provided daily to strengthen crime mapping, intelligence gathering, and proactive policing.

He directed that station guards be strengthened to enhance security at police stations.

While emphasising strict compliance with the Nigeria Police Force social media policy among officers, the CP reiterated his command’s commitment to the safety and security of Abia residents.
