An Indiana man attempted to force a teen girl into his car at gunpoint. She chose to fight.

53-year-old Jeffrey Mauck was arrested at a home in Salem, Indiana, on Saturday, October 24th.

According to reports, Jeffrey approached a teen girl on the sidewalk. He quickly closed the distance, grabbed onto the teen girl, and threatened her with a gun. He had handcuffs waiting for her in the vehicle.

During the entire ordeal, Jefferey was attempting to force the teen into his car.

Thankfully, he picked the wrong one. He THOUGHT she would be so frightened that she would just comply. The teen immediately began screaming and fighting with all she had. The commotion brought out family members who quickly took the situation in hand. They were able to almost completely immobilize Jeffery. They detained Jeffrey until the authorities arrived.

Officers recovered a handgun, handcuffs, and two knives  from the suspect.

Washington County Sheriff Brent Miller commended the family on their swift justice and acknowledged that the incident was a terrifying occurrence in the community.

What a great job, by both the victim and her family. Their brave actions might have saved another person.
