ANAMBRA POLICE MOURNS CSP ELAIGWU AUSTIN; CP NNANNA VISITS JOINT SECURITY TEAM IN AGUATA, TASKS PERSONNEL ON SUSTAINED OPERATIONS

The Anambra State Police Command has expressed profound grief over the death of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Elaigwu Austin, a committed and courageous officer whose service, professionalism, and dedication to the fight against crime earned him recognition in the security operations of the Command.

CSP Elaigwu Austin played a significant role in security operations across Anambra South Senatorial District, where he led a Police-led Joint Security Team comprising military personnel and operatives of other security agencies. Under his leadership, the team undertook coordinated, intelligence-driven operations aimed at disrupting criminal activities, dismantling criminal networks, and improving the security situation in the area.

In honour of the late officer and to ensure continuity of ongoing security efforts, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, on Thursday, 15th October 2026, visited the Police-led Joint Security Team in Aguata. The visit provided an opportunity for the Commissioner to commiserate with the personnel over the loss of their colleague, assess ongoing operations, and encourage officers and men to remain focused, professional, and committed to their responsibilities.

The Commissioner acknowledged the importance of the late CSP Elaigwu Austin’s contributions to the Command’s security efforts and urged the personnel to sustain the operational momentum through effective intelligence gathering, inter-agency cooperation, and proactive policing. He emphasised that the loss of a colleague must not weaken the resolve of the security team to protect lives and property and maintain peace across the state.

The visit further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting personnel in the field, strengthening collaboration among security agencies, and sustaining coordinated operations against criminal elements wherever they may be operating.

The Command extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues, friends, and loved ones of the late CSP Elaigwu Austin. His service and dedication will remain part of the Command’s institutional memory. The Command prays for the peaceful repose of his soul and asks God to grant his family and colleagues the strength to bear this painful loss.
