Bandits have reportedly demanded N500 million for the release of Jamila, a pregnant woman abducted in Millennium City, Kaduna State. The victim has reportedly expressed fears for her life while remaining in captivity.
The situation has renewed calls for urgent intervention by security agencies and government authorities to secure her release and protect both her and her unborn child.
A local security reporter, Bakatsine, raised the alarm in a post, appealing to Nigerians and relevant authorities to focus attention on Jamila following the reported release of Ahmed Zakka and his young family from captivity.
“Since Ahmed Zakka and his young family regained their freedom, we must also remember Jamila, the pregnant woman still being held by bandits after her abduction in Millennium City, Kaduna State,” Bakatsine wrote.
According to the security reporter, the abductors have contacted Jamila’s husband and demanded N500 million as ransom for her release.
Details surrounding the abduction, including the exact date she was taken, were not immediately available.
Bakatsine further disclosed that Jamila had reportedly sent a distressing message expressing fear for her life and appealing for urgent assistance.
“In a heartbreaking message, Jamila reportedly expressed fears for her life,” the reporter stated.
Her continued detention has sparked renewed appeals for coordinated efforts to rescue her before her condition worsens.
Bakatsine urged government authorities, security agencies and other individuals capable of assisting in the rescue effort to take immediate action to ensure her safe return.
“Please, we need to turn our attention now to her too. We appeal collectively to the authorities, security agencies and everyone who can help to do everything possible to secure her safe rescue,” the reporter added.
The security reporter stressed that Jamila’s pregnancy makes the situation particularly urgent, as she may require proper medical care and attention while in captivity.
“Jamila is pregnant and needs urgent help. Her family is waiting for her, and her unborn baby deserves a chance at life,” Bakatsine said.
The reported N500 million ransom demand has also raised concerns about the financial burden facing the family as they seek to secure her freedom.
However, it remains unclear whether the family has formally reported the abduction to the police or other security agencies, or whether a rescue operation has been initiated.
