 Putin woos African leaders at showcase summit, says Russia is better partner than 'colonial' West President Vladimir Putin told African leaders ​on Wednesday that Russia was their best partner, accusing what he cast as a colonial West of still trying ‌to exploit the continent's resources and using debt to hold back development, Reuters reported. The Kremlin chief was speaking at the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, a two-day event attended by African leaders and government delegations from 48 countries, during which he will hold one-on-one talks with many of the 22 individual African leaders ​attending on everything from trade to security, arms deals and grain supplies.  FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO EXPAND ACCESS TO FINANCE FOR MSMEs


The Federal government through the National Credit Guarantee Company (NCGC) says it is expanding access to finance for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through credit guarantees designed to help businesses secure loans without conventional collateral.


The Managing Director of the Company, Bonaventure Okhaimo, disclosed this at the State House periodic briefing, in Abuja.


The Company was established in 2025 by the present administration to address barriers to business financing, stimulate private-sector growth and create employment opportunities.


The Managing Director further disclosed that in partnership with 19 banks and other participating financial institutions, the company has reached about one hundred and seventy-four thousand end-borrowers in all the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.


He explained that, this has also enhanced the job creation drive of the federal government.
