Kaduna Resident Ahmed Zakka, Wife, Infant Daughter Regain Freedom From Bandits
Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife and their infant daughter have reportedly regained their freedom after being abducted by suspected bandits in Kaduna State.
Local security reporter Bakatsine announced the development in a social media post celebrating the family’s reported release. Other credible media platforms have also corroborated the news.
“GOOD UPDATE: Alhamdulillah! Ahmed Zakka and his family have reportedly been freed from bandit captivity,” Bakatsine wrote.
The reporter expressed gratitude over the family’s reported freedom and prayed for their safety as they reunited with their loved ones. He also called for the release of other Nigerians who remain in captivity across the country.
The development comes days after SaharaReporters reported that Zakka, his wife and their infant daughter were abducted from their residence in Alrahus Estate, Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on October 6, 2026.
According to the earlier report, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N300 million for the family’s release.
During their captivity, a video circulated on social media showing Zakka holding his crying infant daughter while an armed man pointed a rifle at him. His wife was seated beside him as the family appealed for help.
SaharaReporters also reported that Zakka’s right hand appeared swollen in the footage.
He reportedly attributed the swelling to a tight rope used to restrain his hands while in captivity.
The video sparked widespread concern among Nigerians, prompting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other public figures to call on security agencies to ensure the family’s safe release.
