The Executive Chairman of Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State, Hon. Sankyai Obadiah, has condemned the gruesome murder of Mr. Magaji Fidelis, an indigene of Bondon Ward, describing the incident as barbaric, inhuman and unacceptable.
Obadiah, who is currently in Abuja on an official engagement for the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council, expressed shock and sadness over the killing, insisting that such a heinous act has no place in a peaceful and progressive society.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Spokesman and Chief Press Secretary, Hon. Francis Peter, popularly known as Franco Na Kowa, the chairman assured residents that security agencies had been mobilised and investigations were ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
He also appealed to residents of Bondon Ward and the entire Kaura Local Government Area, particularly youths, to remain calm, law-abiding and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
The chairman stressed the need for peace and cooperation with security agencies to ensure that justice is served.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the Kaura Local Government Council, led by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Benjamin Bala Nkut Labash, visited the deceased's residence during the burial ceremony to commiserate with the bereaved family.
Other members of the delegation included the Council Secretary, Hon. Haruna Pius Nnah, and the Councillor representing Manchok Ward, Hon. Justina Nicodemus Woji, alongside other government officials.
