Keke Palmer is embracing every part of motherhood and she says she's already counting down to her sideline mom era! The 33-year-old actress, who is mom to her adorable 3-year-old son Leodis “Leo” Andrellton Jackson, shared in a new interview with PEOPLE that she knows exactly what kind of mom she's going to be when Leo starts playing sports.
She says she is so ready to be that mom in the stands cheering the loudest for her boy, and she finds so much joy just thinking about those future game days.
When talking about what sports she hopes Leo will try, Keke said she's open to everything. She joked that she would love to see him become the next Michael Phelps and help bring more representation to swimming, mentioning how inspiring it would be to see more young Black boys in the swimming world.
She said she's also totally open to golf like Tiger Woods or even hockey whatever he loves, she will be there supporting him 100%. But she laughed and admitted her support might be a little too intense, saying people might have to tell her to calm down in the stands, but she just won't be able to help it because that's her son out there.
Beyond the fun game-day dreams, Keke also got real about the emotional side of being a mom. She shared that as Leo gets older, she thinks a lot about making sure he's prepared for the real world.
She said as adults we know how much it hurts when our feelings get hurt, so when it happens to our kids, it can hurt even more for us as parents. But she's also reminding herself that kids are incredibly resilient, strong, and capable on their own.
Like any mom, her biggest worry is that not everyone will be kind to her baby, and that's something she carries with her every day as she watches him grow.
