“I’ve tried every business I could think of, but only being an olosho worked for me” — Nigerian lady says A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after revealing that she tried several businesses to survive before turning to sex work, which she says has been the only venture that worked out for her. In a video shared online, the woman listed businesses she had tried, including selling granite, pure water and other items, as well as running a salon and doing makeup. She said none of the businesses brought her enough money to pay her bills, adding that she was often only able to make enough to eat and survive. The lady said she eventually chose sex work and intends to continue until she dies, despite criticism from people who may judge her decision. “I’m not a lazy girl. I’ve done any business you could literally think of in this life to survive, but none worked. Guess the one that worked for me? Olosho work,” she said.  LAGOS CELEBRATES WORLD SCHOOL GAMES YOUNG GOLF CHAMPIONS

The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) has celebrated four young golfers who represented Nigeria at the World Schools Games Golf Championship in St. Andrews, Scotland, recognising their achievements and engaging parents and stakeholders on the next steps for youth golf development in the state.

The Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr Lekan Fatodu, received the young golfers, drawn from schools in Lagos, at a reception held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

The Nigerian contingent made its debut at the championship, held from September 14 to 16, 2026, competing against young golfers from different countries at the Home of Golf, St Andrews.

Toluwalashe Balogun of Lagoon Schools, Lekki, finished runner-up in the Junior Girls category, while Tiaraoluwa Ahmadu of St. Saviour’s School, Ikoyi, secured a top-five finish. Oluwamayomile Orungbeja of St. Gregory’s College also finished among the top 10 in the Junior Boys category.

Speaking on the significance of the reception, Fatodu said the Commission’s responsibility extended beyond celebrating medals to creating the conditions in which young athletes could continue to develop.

“When a young Lagos athlete travels thousands of kilometres to compete at an international tournament and returns with a podium finish, our responsibility is not simply to applaud the result. We must ask what comes next. Our task is to ensure that the talent we identify today has access to coaching, competition, facilities, guidance, and the right support network to keep progressing”.

Fatodu also commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for what he described as sustained support for sports development and youth empowerment across Lagos State.

“We are fortunate to have a Governor who understands that sports is not merely about competition. It is about giving young people a pathway to confidence, discipline, opportunity and economic participation. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has consistently backed the work of the Sports Commission with the support, resources and attention required to move sports forward.

“The upgrade of our sports facilities, the strengthening of grassroots and school sports, and the broader effort to position Lagos as a centre for major sporting events all speak to a clear commitment to the future of our young people”, Fatodu stated.
