Putin woos African leaders at showcase summit, says Russia is better partner than 'colonial' West President Vladimir Putin told African leaders on Wednesday that Russia was their best partner, accusing what he cast as a colonial West of still trying ‌to exploit the continent's resources and using debt to hold back development, Reuters reported. The Kremlin chief was speaking at the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow, a two-day event attended by African leaders and government delegations from 48 countries, during which he will hold one-on-one talks with many of the 22 individual African leaders attending on everything from trade to security, arms deals and grain supplies. MERCY AIGBE'S SEARCH FOR NEW WIGS SPARKS ONLINE BUZZ, DRAWS RESPONSE FROM JUDY AUSTIN. (PHOTO).

Mercy Aigbe's Search For New Wigs Sparks Online Buzz, Draws Response From Judy Austin

Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe recently sent a clear signal to hair vendors across social media, announcing her readiness for a complete style overhaul. The popular film star invited businesses to present their best offerings in her comment section, vying for her patronage as she seeks a fresh, new look.

In a candid, selfie-style video shared on Wednesday, October 7, Aigbe directly addressed her followers with her trademark humour. She openly expressed dissatisfaction with her current collection of wigs, humorously noting that even some borrowed from fellow actress Emilia were no longer meeting her aesthetic standards.

Judy Austin Enters the Fray

The actress's public call for vendors quickly garnered significant attention, including an unexpected response from businesswoman and actress Judy Austin. Known as Yul Edochie's second wife and a recent entrant into the hair business sector, Austin was among the first to pitch her services to Aigbe.

While numerous other hair vendors also flooded the comment section with their proposals, it was Judy Austin's comment that particularly captured the online spotlight. Her celebrity status and recent venture into the hair industry, combined with her notable personal history within the Nigerian entertainment scene, made her response stand out.

Austin's participation, however, ignited a lively debate among netizens. Some social media users speculated that she was leveraging Mercy Aigbe's platform for opportunistic business promotion. Others, however, defended her right to respond to a public invitation for vendors, arguing that she was simply engaging like any other entrepreneur.

Aigbe explained that her transition to Islam was entirely voluntary, highlighting her long-standing liberal approach to religion. She also spoke about how her new faith helped strengthen her bond with her husband, despite initial challenges, including opposition from Adekaz's first wife regarding their marriage.
