‎

‎The Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF), Anambra State Chapter, is set to organise a health walk on October 17, to promote cancer awareness, physical fitness and healthy living among women and members of the public.

‎

‎The event, scheduled to commence at 6:30 a.m., will bring together members of the forum and friends across various branches of the association to raise awareness about cancer and encourage people to prioritise their health.

‎

‎According to the organisers, the health walk will take place simultaneously in Awka and Onitsha, with participants expected to assemble at designated take-off points in the two locations.

‎

‎The Awka team will comprise members from Awka, Aguata and Anaocha branches, with the NBA Awka Branch Bar Centre serving as the take-off point.

‎

‎Similarly, the Onitsha team will include participants from Onitsha, Idemili, Otuocha and Ihiala branches. The walk will commence at the NBA Onitsha Branch Bar Centre.

‎

‎The initiative is aimed at combining physical exercise with cancer awareness, while encouraging individuals, particularly women, to embrace healthier lifestyles and support efforts to promote cancer prevention and early detection.

‎

‎A press briefing will be held immediately after the exercise by both teams to further communicate the objectives of the programme and highlight the importance of cancer awareness.

‎

‎Participants have been encouraged to turn out in their sportswear and actively participate in the exercise, which seeks to promote the message of healthy women, a stronger Bar and healthier communities.
