  Abia Govt appeals to community leaders for assistance as new teachers reject postings to villages Abia State government has appealed to traditional rulers and presidents general of rural communities in the state to arrange accommodations for newly employed teachers posted to schools in their villages. The appeal is coming on the heels of reports that many of the 4,074 newly employed teachers in the state who were posted  to rural communities, rejected the postings. Some of the teachers complained the postings would separate them from their families and cause accommodation challenges. They also complained about high transport costs to the rural schools.  NDLEA condoles NAF over Ondo aircraft crash 


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic aircraft crash in Ondo State, which claimed the lives of personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and some others.


In a letter of condolence addressed to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), conveyed the Agency’s heartfelt sympathies to the Air Force leadership, officers, men and women and the families of the fallen heroes.


Marwa described the news of the crash as devastating, noting that it was received with profound grief. He praised the Nigerian Air Force for consistently demonstrating exceptional patriotism, gallantry and unwavering commitment to the defence and security of the nation.


According to him, the loss of officers who dedicated their lives to national service is a terrible blow, not only to the Air Force but to the entire country and the national security community.


“In this moment of deep sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families of the fallen heroes, as well as the entire NAF family,” the NDLEA boss said, praying that Almighty God would comfort their loved ones, strengthen the Nigerian Air Force, and grant the departed eternal rest.


He also assured the Air Force of the Agency’s warm regards and solidarity of all officers, men and women of NDLEA during this difficult period.
