AAC SEEK FURTHER INVESTIGATION INTO ON SOWORE IN EKITI The African Action Congress, AAC, has called for further investigation into the reported attack on Omoyele Sowore and other party members in Ekiti State, despite the arrest of eleven suspects. In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Rex Elanu, the AAC says new video footage has emerged which it believes could help identify more persons involved in the incident. The party has expressed concern over the handling of CCTV recordings from the restaurant where the incident occurred, and alleges that some stolen phones were traced to the governor's lodge in Ekiti State. It is seeking an independent investigation into these claims, the handling of recovered items and the circumstances surrounding the incident. The AAC has also called for the arrest and prosecution of any other persons found to have been involved, and demanded an investigation into the conduct of any security officers who may have acted unprofessionally.

Nigerian woman in China breaks down in tears after being asked to vacate apartment for accommodating undocumented immigrant

A Nigerian woman living in China has tearfully recounted how she was asked to leave her apartment after unknowingly allowing an undocumented immigrant to spend a few hours in her home.

According to her, the incident happened after she celebrated her birthday with friends. One of the guests later called, claiming he could not reach his roommate and needed somewhere to sleep.

She agreed to accommodate him, but a few hours later, police officers arrived at her apartment.

The woman said the man immediately warned her not to open the door, explaining that the police were looking for him. The officers eventually gained entry and apprehended him.

She claimed the man had overstayed his visa and was on the authorities' wanted list. According to her, surveillance cameras helped the police trace him to her apartment.

Although she explained that she had no knowledge of his immigration status, she said she was ordered to vacate the apartment and pay a fine.

The woman also claimed that the apartment had been sealed, preventing the landlord from renting it out to another tenant.

She lamented losing her two-month security deposit despite recently paying her rent, adding that she was grateful the incident did not affect her visa.

Sharing her experience, she urged others living abroad to be careful about whom they accommodate, saying she decided to speak out to prevent someone else from making the same mistake.
