YOBE STATE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, ADVOCATES CLEAN AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

Poor waste disposal, environmental pollution and unhygienic surroundings continue to pose significant threats to public health, underscoring the need for increased public awareness and collective action towards a cleaner and healthier environment.

In a renewed effort to address these challenges, the Yobe State Environmental Protection Agency, in collaboration with the Environmental Health and Public Health Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Yobe State Chapter, has organised a road walk in Damaturu to commemorate World Environmental Health Day.

The initiative seeks to promote environmental awareness, encourage proper waste management and sensitise residents on the importance of maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings.

It also highlights the need for individuals, communities and relevant authorities to work together in tackling environmental pollution and other practices that endanger public health.

The organisers emphasise that environmental health is a shared responsibility, requiring sustained public commitment and collective action to ensure a cleaner, safer and more sustainable future for all.
