 [ASSEN SAPS MEMBERS ASSIST WOMAN IN GIVING BIRTH AT POLICE STATION] Assen SAPS members assisted a female suspect who went into labour at the police station on Thursday, 8 October 2026, helping her deliver a healthy baby girl before she and the newborn were taken to a medical facility. According to reports, members were on duty at Assen SAPS under the command of Sergeant Chidi, when they received a telephone call regarding the arrest of a female suspect at Msholozi informal settlement in Kameeldrift. Constable Olivier and Constable Mokhutshoane responded to the call and arrested the suspect, who was reportedly in good health and had no visible injuries at the time of the arrest. She was subsequently taken to Assen SAPS. While at the police station, the suspect began experiencing labour pains and an ambulance was immediatly summond. Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo visited his former class teacher and mentor, Pa James Popoola who was 92 years old , Pa James Popoola's family house is in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State. He taught Olusegun Obasanjo in  1950 at the Baptist Boys High School in Abeokuta. Obasanjo was accompanied by his former classmate, Jacob Omolade, who is the traditional ruler of Ibara. The former president engaged his retired teacher with old memories and banters to the admiration of the trio. Pa Popoola who was seeing Obasanjo for the first time in decades, said, “I can’t believe it. I am happy today. Very happy. You mean I will host you in my house today, before my death.          Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed the Adamawa State CAN Chairman and Catholic Bishop of Yola, Most Rev'd Dr Stephen Dami Mamza positive for COVID-19. The CAN Chairman, who is also a member of the Adamawa State COVID-19 committee in a press release today 23rd August 2020, confirmed the NCDC results announced that he has decided to go into total isolation including. “One lesson tha t I want people to appreciate and understand is that everybody has to make himself available for testing if need be”. While noting that testing positive for the virus was not a death sentence, the Bishop urged people to pray for him and all who tested positive. He urged the general public to take preventive protocols seriously in order to help stop the spread of the pandemic. He said in compliance with COVID-19 protocols, he went into self-isolation and have already started treatment.

        *The baby was recovered from the toilet but certified dead by a medical doctor* On the 22/8/2020 at about 8:30am following a tip off,police operatives attached to Ogidi Division arrested one Franca Udokwu 'f' aged 30 years of Obuba Obofia Nkpor Community in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State. Suspect allegedly gave birth to a baby boy and dumped the child inside a pit toilet inside her house.Upon interrogation,the suspect led police detectives to the scene of crime where the baby was recovered and taken to Iyi- enu Mission Hospital for medical attention but was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor. EFCC ARRESTS NINE SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS IN MINNA.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

         The Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) has arrested nine suspected internet fraudsters in Minna, Niger State. They were arrested following intelligence volunteered to the Commission by concerned residents of the area. The suspects were picked up by the operatives of the Commission at their hideouts in Room 202, Seftec Hotels, behind NNPC’s mega petrol filling station, Minna, Niger State, for their alleged involvement in a love scam and other internet related crimes. The suspects are: Ohanuka. O. Samuel, 26; Adebayo Adeyinka Samuel, 26; Omoh Simeon, 25; Igah Abumere, 28 and Ajobo Sunday, 26. Others are Abdukadir Musbau, 20; Iredia Johnson 29, Aliyu Abdulazeez, 25, and Adebisi Temitope, 27. Items recovered from the suspects include, one Toyota Venza with registration number, laptops and exotic phones. The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.More photos below.

CASH SMUGGLING : COURT JAILS TWO LEBANESE,FORFEITS UNDECLARED SUM OF $890,000.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt zonal office on Thursday, August 20, 2020, secured the conviction of Chamseddine Waell Mohammed and Dina Jihad Khali who both pleaded guilty to separate one count charge of money laundering preferred against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The offences run contrary to Section 2 (3) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 (as amended) and punishable under Section 2 (5) of the same Act. Both defendants were sentenced to two years imprisonment by Justice I. M. Sani of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The first charge read: “That you Chamseddine Waell Mohammed on the 1st July, 2020 at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Port Harcourt within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did fail to make a declaration of the sum of $220,000.00 (Two Hundred and Twenty Thousand US Dollars) hid in your Luggage on board a chartered flig...

NIGERIA POLICE INVITES LAGOS APPLICANTS FOR PHYSICAL SCREENING ON AUGUST 24.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       Lagos State indigenes, who applied for employment into the Nigeria Police Force as Recruits, will undergo physical screening at the State Police Command, Ikeja on Monday, August 24. A statement issued today by the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy advised all shortlisted candidates to arrive at the screening by 8a.m. All applicants, who have already been contacted via email by the Police, should report at the State Command with the following documents: National Identity Number (NIN); original and duplicate copies of credentials as well as a printout of their Application Profile Page. The exercise will be conducted for two weeks - from Monday, August 24 to Monday, September 7, 2020. While wishing all applicants luck during the interview, the statement urged all applicants to always respect the COVID-19 safety guidelines issued by the Federal and State governments.
