  NINE PEOPLE ARRESTED AS CULT CLASH ROCKS BENUE BURIAL CEREMONY  PAt least nine suspected cult members have been arrested after a violent clash disrupted a burial ceremony in Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State. The incident reportedly led to the destruction of homes and valuables, with several individuals still unaccounted for. Tension gripped parts of Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State after a violent clash involving suspected cult groups left properties destroyed and several persons missing. The incident occurred in Abenga, Mbakya, and Mbabur communities during the burial of one Dugeri Terhemen, popularly known as “Black Deal.” According to local sources, the burial ceremony was disrupted by clashes between rival groups, leading to chaos in the affected areas. OSCAR PISTORIUS TO UNDERGO MENTAL EVALUATION.

REUTERS/Daniel Born/Pool             According to sources,the South African court today wednesday ordered Oscar Pistorius to undergo evaluation for mental illness,a move which could determine whether he lacked criminal capacity when he shot dead his girlfriend.The prosecution had asked for the evaluation after a Psychiatrist told the court on monday that Pistorius who is on trial for murder of Reeva Steen Kamp on February 14,2013,suffered from an anxiety disorder.The prosecutor has argued he wanted to prevent Oscar from later appealing on the basis of a disturbed mental condition {smart move}.The Defence lawyer Barry Roux had argued against the motion,saying it was premature to have the evaluation before he called other witnesses,but the Judge ruled that a mental assessment would ensure that Oscar Pistorius gets a fair trial,adding that she thought it strange that the Defence had opposed the motion.
