 STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

3 SYRIAN DRUG TRAFFICKERS,BEHEADED IN SAUDI ARABIA.

                 Today tuesday,three Syrians were convicted for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia which was announced by a spokesperson from their ministry of interior.The three Syrians are Hamud Hassoun,Hassan Musalamani and Yussef Al-Halgqi,were all arrested with a large amount of banned amphetamine pills.The three of them were beheaded for their crimes.Their beheading in the northern Jawf region increased to 44 the number of executions carried out in the desert kingdom this year.Human Rights watch last month expressed alarm at the surge in the number of executions in the country,where some 19 people were beheaded between August 4 and 40.8 of those beheaded had been convicted of non-violent offences such as drug trafficking and sorcery.They described the use of the death penalty in their cases as particular egregious.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
