  BENUE STATE POLICE COMMAND  PRESS RELEASE  18TH APRIL ,2025   SANKERA ATTACK: POLICE ACTION On  17/4/2025  at about 2100hrs, information was received that a large number of  suspected militia had invaded  Sankera axis of Benue state with intention to attack communities around Gbagir, Ukum Local Government Area.  Upon receipt of this report, the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police command, CP. Steve H. Yabanet FCID, psc (+)  ordered tactical teams to move to the area and join forces with police officers on ground and other security agencies to forestall the attack.  Following this order, a team of officers moved to the area and engaged them. PRISONERS FROM KIRIKIRI MEDIUM PRISON ATTEMPTED TO ESCAPE YESTERDAY.

              According to sources,they were planning to escape the prison yesterday friday following a protest by inmates over the isolation of one of them.The isolated inmate who leads a christian programme within the prisons had bought a microphone and a fan from his funds kept with the prison officials but the Deputy Prison Controller Kayode Adeyemi,was said to have disapproved the purchase and ordered that the prisoner be locked up in isolation as punishment.This made the inmate to start throwing stones and pebbles at the warders.The Deputy Prison controller then ordered the prison police unit to shoot at sight.This led to shots being fired at the mob of inmates.Checkout the conditions of the prisoners below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
